Yes folks, Mark Harrison has confirmed that the Auschwitz gas chambers were built by the Soviets after the war.
Confirmed by whom? Using what evidence? Which chambers?
Fuck knows—but Mark typed it confidently, so apparently the case is closed.
The Auschwitz-Birkenau killing installations are documented through German architectural plans, construction records, orders for gas-tight doors and ventilation equipment, wartime photographs, perpetrator testimony, survivor testimony and the surviving ruins.
The SS attempted to demolish the crematoria and gas chambers as the Soviet army approached. They were destroying evidence of German mass murder—not thoughtfully clearing a building site for a Soviet attraction that Mark Harrison would expose eighty years later in a Facebook comment.
Mark has replaced an enormous body of converging evidence with one unsupported sentence and stamped it “confirmed.”
Facebook University must have one hell of a history department.
